As for the echo i would use the Ranger echo mic myself,,,but thats me. SRA 117 which gets its power from the radio PIN#4 i think,(DX versions)
This mic will give you complete control of the interval and delay features of Echo, all from the front of the microphone

Just remove D67 from the circuit. You can even wire in a SPST switch so that you can turn it on & off when desired. With this feature, operators can try different microphones out and hear what they will sound like in actual use. That's all there is to it. (Don't you just love those tough mods?)

Thats from January tech tips on ranger web page

Weakestation,

I will try and explain where D67 is located for the Talkback mod for the 2995DX here: When you take cover off with Radio facing you look for,

BA10324AF X X X
949 L84

X X X-------Lift one leg or remove
this one for talkback

X ---This one has 2 silver stripes on it.

Located a little left of center on board

You have 3-Three small resistors marked by "X" about 1/16" by 1/32" Next to the Large chip BA10324AF on the Right of Chip.

Underneath BA10324AF you will find three rows of these small resistors running towards the front of radio. One row with 2 resistors, Next Row with 3 resistors.

Next row with 2 Resistors as shown above. Lift one leg or remove the one marked above.

Be Very, Very Careful and use a VERY SMALL soldering iron.

This Mod is from the Ranger Tech Site, it is not a Loud Talkback but it does work.

Hope this will help!

OR CALL RANGER TECH SUPPORT AND THEY WILL WALK YOU THROUGH IT.

HOPE THIS ONE DOES HELP!
