I JUST RECIEVED MY 2950DX I GOT ON THE AUCTION .
I OPENED THE WHOLE BOX VERY CAREFULLY ON MY KITCHEN TABLE AND THERE WAS NO PLUG ON CHIP IN THE PARTS BAG FOR THE CHANNEL MOD. !!!
I KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT AND WHERE IT GOES BUT WHERE DO YOU GET THE MICRO CHIP STYLE PLUG THAT DOES THE MAGIC ???
SHOULD THE CHIP HAVE CAME WITH THE RADIO OR DO I HAVE TO BUY IT ???
I HAVE ANOTHER DX AND IT CAME WITH THE CHIP NEEDED! DID I GET A "SLACK PARTS BAG" ?
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO GET IT ??

I'm sorry you are having trouble getting your plug on chip, I'm not sure who e-mailed you saying your chip is on the way since I don't have your name or address. Could you please call customer service at 1-800-626-6343 and ask for Suzanne so we can see when your chip went out. If we can't locate the missing chip we will send you out another one. |

How long have you been waiting for the chip? Have you contacted customer service? Let me know your status I'll see what I can do to get things moving.

This is not Copper's problem, it is mine alone.
You see, I have this problem in that I try to spend money with the local guy anytime I can. In this case, I bought my radio from the local guy. Before I plunked down my money, he looked in the box and found a jumper in the parts bag. We were both under the impression from what we both had read about the 2950 (non DX) that a DIP jumper would do the trick. Upon closer examination after I got the radio on my bench, I was able to determine that a simple DIP jumper will not make the radio do what I want. I need a special doohickey that nobody will talk about. In fact, I called Ranger and went through the whole phone tag team thing. The 3rd. person I talked to (and had to run through my whole story all over again with) actually hung up on me when I mentioned the 'chip'!
So you see, although I appreciate the concern for my situation by you, I made this mess myself and you should not feel as though you are in any way responsible.

I HAVE RADIO #36 !!!! ON THE WAY FROM COPPER NOW.
A 2970DX .... HA HA
AND YES , I'M MARRIED "10 YEARS" , AND MY WIFE TALKS ON THEM TOO ! SHE RUNS A 2970 ON LSB !
WE BOTH ENJOY OUR RADIOS , AND MATTER OF FACT , IT WAS HER IDEA THAT I GET A HOBBY AS I NO LONGER WORK !
34 OF THE 36 RADIOS HAVE BEEN BOUGHT IN THE PAST 6 YEARS,
THE OTHER TWO ARE THE ONES SHE & I HAD LEFT OVER FROM THE 70's BOOM !
I GUESS YOU CAN SAY I'M A LUCKY MAN , SEEING HOW I COULD STOCK THE SHELVES OF THE LOCAL CB SHOPS AROUND HERE WITH MY RIGS !!!

My chip is still lost in the paper work! CAN'T wait till it gets here. But I was told BY Suzanne that there two different 2950dx radios and it's hard to determine which expander module the one I have takes. So I hope they figure it out! |
