Hello,
I have a galaxy 66 and would like to add dual finals to it. Does anyone have the information on what parts to add?

Thanks

I have a preferred method...
turn your 66 down to 1w carrier and buy a kl60. You'll get more power from that than you ever will from dual finals.

More power PER DOLLAR, easily. Reminds me of adding two more cylinders to a V-6 motor. Possible, but not cost-effective. An amplifier is hands-down the better bet.

Then get yourself a 500 amp power supply and a 3 kilowatt amp.

I guess no one wants to answer this gentleman's post, just give opinions... (he might just want to do the work like others do, something called having a hobby I believe) so Tyler84, check out this website, all you need to obtain is a 2SC1969, or a 2SC2312 transistor and a few support parts. This modification costs under $20.00 if you find the transistor cheap. Here is the site for the dual final conversion, it'll work on a DX33/44/55/66/ and the DX73: http://www.angelfire.com/electronic/cbdoctor/dualfinalconv.html

Also, check out this website for parts, the 2SC1969 transistors are $2.65 here: http://www.bdent.com/

I hope this helps out!

No it is not, though I am constructing a specialty Galaxy website... all of these type of mods and all the hard to find Galaxy tricks, also the basic transmitter alignments will be here too. The dual final conversion in question here, I've done it to a DX44, DX55, and a Melaka, worked perfectly on all three, I've also done it in some of the older ranger boards! I'll check back with you all later... the site should be done within a month I believe, I'm doing it all myself from the ground up... halfway there though!

This modification also works on the Galaxy Melaka! Just thought I'd throw that in for all you Melaka buffs!

Unless all my info is incorrect the Galaxy 66 already has "dual" finals.

The only Galaxy models with dual finals from factory are the 77, 88, 99 (can't remember if the 73 has it), and the new 45. 33,44,55,66,949,959 are all single final output.

All the new Galaxy export radios out there are dual final radios.1-2166 driving 2-2312's. The older ones only have single finals and diferent boards than the new ones. The dual final versions all have heat sinks on the rear.

Both the 93T and 48T (new models using the 6900 board) have a single 2312 final. Only the DX45 uses dual finals and the 6900 board in mobile Galaxies.

My 93T's both have single 2290's. Did I miss something here...?

Just save your $$$ and get a dual final radio like a 88 or 99 and get an amp for behind of it...
