I recently bought a Galaxy Saturn. Good radio, but there is a problem. For some reason, upon the peak of modulation, the radio clips, or breaks up. It does this so badly that my amplifier relays chatter. I tried several amps to rule out the actual relays. What causes this? Maybe out of alignment? The guy I bought it from tuned it, or so he says. Now I'm not so sure. Anyone ran into this problem before? Thanks in advance.

Hmmm...Have you tried a different length jumper? I would try a 12 footer , The chatter is a miss-match in my opinion..

Yes, I have tried that. The SWRs are perfect in between the radio as well as the antenna. The radio even breaks up with an amp out of line. I can hear it through a set of headphones with another radio sitting close by with the rf power turned back. Maybe the radio is out of alignment? This is puzzling me. I have never had this problem with an export radio before.

I would guestimate it is not an alignment problem. It is most likely the AM Power Regulator or something like that...Do you need it fixed? If you can't find anyone , email me direct at tech307@copperelectronics.com

Lep: My Saturn does the same thing, the cure? Put the audio clipper back in the circuit or turn the mic gain back to about 12:00. The Saturn, having duel finals, has a LOT of audio. Just a suggestion. bullshipper537:
