Ordered the VR-9000 from copper and should have it tomorrow. I didn't get it modded so I will have to do the frequency mod my self. I understand the 11 meter mod will be the same as the SS3900? I also need to know which wire to put the switch on to disable talkback. I will be using this as a base radio for now, will my 10 amp regulated power supply be sufficient?

Thanks,

Steve

I got the radio today. I am getting ready to cut the "4" resistors off the soldier side of the board? I have read this in older posts on the forum? Is this correct? I dont have a grounded soldiering iron and dont want to kill the board with stray voltage, so a cutting I will go.

Thanks,

Steve

I think I will, but first I have to buy a base antenna.

Whats the turn around time? Disable talkback and tune it up.

You dont have to do that all, to go back to 10m voice, use the "e" band and jump the pll 3rd one to the end of were the last resistor was it covers up to 28.515 I put it on my anl button as the toggle. If you want to I'll re open mine and tell ya what I did. It was the same on my galaxy 2100 from way back.
