i am still messing with this 2970dx. i have found some more things that i don't know about. this radio is one modified for 11 meter and the upper left button next to the mic cord has had echo put in it. the amp does not seem to work on 11 meter. i am not sure about 10& 12 meter either. i have not messed with the 10& 12 meter on it much. also, what did the now echo knob originally do?

i have also found out that one of the side bands is not putting out what it is supose to. it only puts out about 2 watts. the other one works fine-about 25 to 30 watts.

the ssb power difference sounds like that radio is severely out of alignment.

as for the amp, do you hear a relay 'click' when the ptt is pressed?
