I'm having a bit of trouble installing a workman rodger beep in my realistic trc492 The beep has 4 wires, one white ,one red,one black and one green.

can anyone help me out ,if i wire it like the instructions say's
nothing works ( no meter,no modulation,etc)

Have you reconnected the wires to the mike socket and tried the radio stock? If the radio still works like before, the beep module could be bad. Some of them use extremely thin copper foil on the little circuit board. Take a close look for a component lead that has gotten pushed from above. This may reveal a solder glob that has been pushed away from the copper foil, breaking a circuit. If this beep was ever installed in another radio, someone may have blown it for you in a prior attempt.

If the radio flunks the 'stock' test with the beep unhooked, it's not good news.
