Ok, turns out my KLV550 is not D.O.A., however there is a problem with the rotary 6 position power switch. Question is can I bypass the switch and allow the amp to run "all out"? There is a small board that the switch is attached to and that small board is attached to the main board by 3 solder connections, can I just solder a jumper across all three connections???? Please help!!!!!!!!

Also! Is there a bias control inside the amp to match the radio to the amp, and if so where is it, It looks like there are three variable controls inside, one for the meter one for the tx light? the other?
Thanx for any info.

Solder them back in place. A "wide open" option is not wise on this model. The resistors on that switch also serve to make the amplifier stable. Bypassing the switch to drive the transistors "full bore" may cause it to oscillate, overheat and damage the expensive RF power transistors.
