Hello, Does anyone know if there is a "clip" for the audio limiter for the Eagle Tomahawk. I have adjusted the am power down to 3 watts and turned up the modulations vr and the radio still has week modulation with an D104-m6b with a fresh battery.

If you REALLY want to do this, its Q29.

Thanks, I will try it. I really do like this radio but overall the modulation is low. I can get almost twice as much out of my Uniden Pro 810e base.

You may end up toasting the audio amp. Why not put it back like it was, power wise(where you get no variation in power output with modulation applied), turn the AMC down til you get a good 80% on a whistle(across the mic, not into it)then go find a good microphone with speech compression(not noise cancelling) or an outboard speecha processor? I know for a fact the Tomahawk and clones will do 100% without clipping Q29, but the problem is average vs. peak modulation. Besides, if you clip it, you will most likely cause lots of splatter.

I clipped one once and hooked a D104 to it and had no splatter.

If you cut or remove Q-29, don't expect clean audio. Especial on SSB. Doing so will make the radio louder but distortion and splatter are guarenteed when using a D-104.
