Would it be possible to install a +10k switch on the 810 base, and does anyone know where the audio limiter is, I was told that it was Q6 but I am not sure.

(clarifire mod) cut d-25, cut d-32, cut both traces on the pcb going to the clarifier, solder one wire to a ground solder the other to a 8 volt source.this should give you 3 kc of slide,if you want more slide put a piece of jumper wire over d-24.(channel expantion)(1). unsolderthe pll chip.(2).throw it away.(3). solder a new pll chip a upd2816.(4)connect pin 20 to pin 21 ground.(5)solder a wire from pin 9 toone side of a spst switch.(6)solder a wire from a pcb ground to the other side of the switch.(7)if all work is good you should get 27.420 to 27.860.you can use the clarifier to go in between channels.if you have a problem geting all the coverage adjust l-14 the vco coil. vr-10 is am power,vr-6 is alc, vr-5 is am modulation,vr-7 is rf power meter,vr-1 is s-meter.there you go!!

The kit will give coverage from 26.515 to 27.855 in 3 40-channel bands,good dx-ing.

Buck,

All of the Expo Kits I have installed in the past have come with pretty good / easy to follow instructions.

Hope this helps a little.

Well I got my expo kit today....looks to be all there but it has a crystal(I think) broken off of it... it is one of two silver pieces that has J2 stamped on the top of it....Just curious which way this needs to be soldered on or if it matters....Also I didnt get any instructions at all, just a freq chart and a list of radios this will work with. Does anyone know how to hook it up? it has 4 wires...Red, Black,White, and Green.
Any help would be appreciated

Forgot to add....This is a model N kit. I was looking at the crystal and board and I cant figure out which way it was soldered in.

go to cb tricks and click on expo kits.it tells you how to install it.does not matter which way you put the crystal in.

Well, I installed the expo kit today and ran into a few problems.....Only one side of it works....either high or low, IM not sure which one yet. I hope that my problem is that I soldered the crystal in backwards..also when I got all done and put it all together I have no transmit...When I key the mic the TX light comes on but I can still hear the receive the same as if I hadn't keyed up...Any suggestions???? I probably should have left it alone but I guess Ive got to learn sometime...
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Thanks Sonoma I guess that solves my theory about the crystal....I got the installation instructions from the internet and followed them to a T except for step 2 of the clarifier part I didnt get any kind of choke with my expo kit...What do I need and where can I find it???? also it calls for a Varactor diode where can I get one of these??? I desperately need HELP!!!!!
Thanks
Buck
