Right in front of the Audio Transformer is a diode blocked by c198 , I can't read the one in mine to give you the reference designator , but I believe this diode is the one to cut for talkback. I remember a long time ago adding TB to one of these radios , give it a try...

hope you dont have a power mike or the thing will squeel like a pig been there done that!!!!!! maybe if you use a noise cancelling mike youll be alright but if you have a d 104 forget it!!

i found c198 but dont see a diod,(im new to this)i do now what a diod is though can you be more specific please.

for talkback in rci-2980 cut d80 right in front of the audio transformer.for modulation cut r249
