Hello,
I heard that to disable the roger beep you cut or put a switch in between J9 jumper.
Is that the orange coated wire that comes up from the board or is it an uncoated wire running along the surface of the printed board?
Do you loose any upper channels (28.355-28.585) on the 3900GHP as a result of conversion, as I heard you do with the Superstar (single final version)?
Doeas the 3900GHP suffer the freq stability issue of its smaller brother? If temp is constant and one can adj the clarifer is it an issue at all on either radio.

Jumper J9 is a short piece of thin, bare wire flat against the upper side surface of the circuit board, in the front-right (YOUR right) corner of the circuit board, not far from the mike socket. In the models that come with a roger beep switch, the switch wires will be found in the holes where this jumper is installed. Cut the jumper, no more Roger Beep. Install a switch in place of the jumper, and now you can choose.

The drifting issue is no different between the regular and high power. Both have a coarse clarifier so it should be simple enough to manipulate the tx frequency as the radio warms or cools. |

Can the 10 meter channel mod be done on either side of the board? Trouble seeing the IC7 chip much less reaching it. How can pin #'s be identified? |

There is usually some kind of dimple or indentation on the PLL chip at #1 pin. Just count over from there.
