I have a galaxy 1000 tube amp, and i was wondering if it could be used on 80,40, or 20 meter bands.

This amp has five 35LR6 tubes.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks.

Hey Pinger-
What kind of wattage are you getting from it on straight AM? Is it a 1 driving 4?

Every one of them I ever saw was STRICTLY 11-meters only. Converting it to mutliple bands would be almost the same effort as just building one from scratch. Finding a used 5-band amp built for multiple ham bands would probably be cheaper.

What about a palomar 600 or maybe a texas star? Someone was telling me that those amps work fine on 80meters and up.
