I added an Opek roger beep to my Cobra 29 and I have 2 questions.

1) I put a switch inline with the audio wire to turn the beep on/off. It works fine UNLESS my Galaxy 250HD is on high or medium. When the amp is on med or high and I turn the beep off it emits sort of a screeching sound instead of silence. With the amp on low there is no noise at all. What could cause that?

2) How could I turn down the volume of the beep. I have had several people tell me that is the loudest roger beep they have ever heard.

Thanks,

The "BEEP" is getting smeared by all the stray RF getting back into the board. To lower the volume of the "BEEP" simply add about 4.7k Ohms in series to the audio lead coming out of the "BEEP". You can go lower or higher in resistance to increase or decrease the "BEEP" volume.
