do u really have to have the switching wire because i was making some thing that had all different mic plugs in a box to one radio and i dont know what to do with the switching wire im wiring the box to a galaxy

Snowman,

On some of your older Mics they had a Switch that you could move from Relay to Electronic for Switching.

Most all of your Newer Mics are Electronic or have the switch.

You Will need it if some of the older mics you might use do not have the Switch on them.

Tech808 is right, otherwise, just solder it to the shield pin.
