I have an RCI 2900... I am not reading a number wrong. One local tech tried to tell me I had a bootleg radio... However, I have verified this is a real RCI. I have been told that the radio was a short-lived predecessor to the 2950 and the 2950 mods will work on my rig. Looked in numerous places but only find 2950 mods. Can any oof you folks verify that the 2950 mods are the same? If not, can I get 2900 mods anywhere?

Straycat,

Is it the same as a 2950? Are the mods the same?

Have seen very few of these around...

Sorry couldn't answer you. Mine was modded before I got it. I've checked Google.com for info but couldn't find any info that would help.

The 2900 is the 2950 before production , and I may add "better looking by far"...I have a few of them....I also wrote the tune up for it in Secret CB volume 28.

They are a neat collector's item and quite a few are out there. The analog meter is a heck of a lot better than what the 2950 is built with.
