Wards model 702 base station. I recently picked this radio up at a flea market, and would like to fix it up and maybe do some modification if possible. The only problems that it has other than cosmetics stuff, is the clock is crazy ! it lights up and all the LEDS work, but it wont keep time, it goes from like 5:50pm to 18:99pm and stay there forever. I was wondering if this was a common problem on this model. Also if anyone had any mods for this thing, from talk back to peak and tune. Thanks for any suggestions...other than just trashing it...LOL

I've got one of these too, bought it brand new in the late 70's. Got it hooked to a Turner+3 and it TALKS! But I have the same clock problem you have. It seems to be a common problem with them I've heard from other people with them. Never heard a remedy though...:/ I would also like to ask one of the Techs, about the same radio (Montgemery Wards GEN 702 base), about a way to stop the loud "pop" heard from the speaker when you unkey the mike, as they have relay switching. It's most annoying, and they all do it. Thanx.
