I just got one at a yard sale for 2 bucks !! they said they had no idea what it was !!!! ( lol i got it to cheep ) But i need all the tubes , what will it cost to get it back up and running ????

The D & A Maverick runs 8 tubes, 4-6jr6's driving 4-6JE6/6LQ6's. With new tubes your looking at over 200 bucks. |

The best way to retube a maverick it to replace the finals with 31LQ6's and wire the filaments in series to the line voltage. 31+31+31+31=124 close enough. Look around and you should be able to find the 31's for $10 to $15 new.
For the drivers use either 17JG6's or 22JG6's. The two transformers have both a 6 volt winding and a 5 volt winding if you dig under the bell cover. 6+6+5=17 6+6+5+5=22 Add them up and hook them up.

Scrapiron63 That could be the tubes i need sence this one dont have a tube one in it !!!
The other D&A 250 i have has had a major overhaul !!!!
I thought about fixing this one up like the other but no numbers on the tubes at all !!!!!

Unless they've been changed, thats what came in them. You can use 6JR6 or 6JG6 for the drivers. I see them on ebay for about 10 bucks, and the 6LQ6's for around 20 bucks each.
Rewiring and changing the tubes like Monk suggested is a good way to go, those tubes are a lot cheaper. You can get new 31LQ6's for about 12 bucks. |
