Lets get something straight here. I am not nor ever have smashed another company for making money , I get tons of email from un-happy people every day reffering to the "Turbo-Tuned" radios they have purchased from other places. One thing is that those companies need to make money and that is the way they do. However there is a difference in "Tuning" a radio for max performance and giving false direction to those who want to do it them selves. There is and never was ANY radio that takes over 15 minutes to convert or tune. The claims to having a "Tech" work on them for several hours to get them right should point out one thing and one thing only. Someone has no clue to what he/she is doing and that is why it takes them so long so YES they need to charge 50 or 100 dollars to cover the time lost. I personally have tuned/converted/added kits/totally rebuilt/repaired well over 8500 different radios in my CB career and I asure you , THERE IS NO MAGIC to these radios. Even BIG companies like Yaesu , Kenwood , Icom and Alinco offer the mods as something ANYONE can do , so ask yourself this question , why would a company producing a so called CB cut their throat by making the modifications HARD???? Grow up out there , if you need the money just tell the truth and you will stay. Shoot the breeze and you go down. Copper has been here forever , go figure....Look here at these modifications for yourself , the truth speaks...go to qrz.com and click on modifications...

you go 307,tell it like it is.i know the company in question XXX.
they blow alot of smoke up the "unaware" consumers
a$$es.they claime 60 watts out of a 2950 with
the turbo tune, with the stock finals(2312's)a 18.5 watt final mind you.
ive got a 2950 i bought from coppers in lou,ky
a 13z board.did the conversion 26-32mhz, did the
normal power/modulation tuning using the vr's.
got around 28 watts from it in this(what i call) stock form.
i latter desided to go all out and see what she would do.i bought panthers AF power kit,sp1-a speach processer,up graded the transmit side up grading transister from front to HD finals(497's)
changed resister values in places for a little boost, added a npc mod spent over 100 bucks in parts building this Hot Rod 2950 and it didnt
quite make 60 watts.and this is a damm stout
2950 there is nothing left to do to it for more power that ive herd of or seen out there anyway.
so how is a 2950 using two 2312's rated at 18.5 watts per transister (37 watts for the pair) going to pump out 60 watts! with out tons of false harmonics to fool the meter? well we both know there not! it wont do the 37 watts, because no
amplifier section is 100% efficient as we all know. i'm not a radio tech, just a hobbiest "an ole redneck hoosier".but i don't like dishonest
people and they are just that dishonest.
ok im off my soap box now.haha:) latter bullet
