Bigdog, how many wires does that mike have, and do you know how it wires to any radio. It should be fairly easy to wire it for the 2970. You just need to use the first three pins on the 6 pin plug.
1. shield
2. audio
3. tx
Pin 4 is receive, if the mike has a receive wire, but you don't have to have it wired for receive. Pins 5 and 6 are for changing channels.

Biggdog, i've never seen a MC-50, but this is how most mikes are: Look at the end of the cord, you may have to peel it back a little, the shield should be wrapped around one wire, that wire is the audio wire. If it's like this, you have two of the connections for the 2970, shield on pin 1, audio on pin 2. If you have an ohm meter, check the other two wires, one may show continuity with the shield, if so thats a ground also, and can be put on pin 1 with the shield. The other wire is TX, and should show continuity with shield with the mike keyed. This wire will go on pin 3. Thats all you need to make the 2970 work. If neither of the two wires show continuity with shield, find the one that does show continuity with shield with the mike keyed. That will be tx, and you can forget the 4th wire. Now, if one wire is not wrapped with the shield, we'll have to start over. Hope this makes sense. lol, scrapiron
