Radiodude,

The only thing I added to mine was the RANGER
SRA-117 6 Pin Digital Echo Mic.

They also make them for the other TR and Ranger Radio's in 4 Pin (SRA-117A)

Does not use batteries as it pulls the power from the radio.

If you do a lot of talking it adds up over a year not having to buy batteries.

Lon.

Did you usually go through a lot of batteries in a years' time BEFORE you bought that SRA-117? Your last sentence sounded like you are speaking from experience.

Jeff.

Well I have my 2995DX BUT I have a question!!

Several ppl have told me NOT to put a power mic in the radio!! They say that it will overdrive the radio and cause it to heat up the finals!!

Is this true???

Radiodude,

Up until I put the Ranger SRA117 on our's we ran the PT452 and Silver Salute power mic's with no problems whatever.

The 2995DX does get warm and you do need to add the Fan Kit for it.

http://www.copperelectronics.com/cgi-bin/checkitout/checkitout.cgi?catalogSTORE:CKIE:prodR10-10130+

Fits the 2990 & 2995 as well as other Radios.

Mounts very easy to back of radio on cooling fins.

It makes it run nice & cool and prevent's any overheating.

Jeff,

Yes, we do go through a lot of batteries.

With roughy 5 radios at a time hooked up and at least two or three on at a time we do wear them out.

My 2995DX and 1st Sargant's 696 are on most every day all day long.

And we do use them

From experience.

OK 808 thanks!! I ordered the fan kit and should have it MON. I am going to wire a Night K and an Echo Max 2000 for it to see which sounds the best.

A sa-delta echomaster amplified desk mike sounds good on the 2995dx.If you turn the mike gain up all the way on the radio then just crack open the mod control on the mike just enough to be heard.
