I want to run a power mic on it. What do I have to do and what kind of mic do you suggest? Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks, Harve-Unit199

Unit199,

You can wire an Astatic Silver / Night, Eagle or D104 to it.

Astatic Wiring for Most 8 Pin Icom's is:

Pin #1 ~ White / Audio
Pin #5 ~ Red / Transmit
Pin #6 ~ Blue / Common
Pin #7 ~ Shield / Ground

Yellow & Black N/C

Hope this Help's

Make sure there's no voltage on the audio wire like on the 706 mkgII. If there is, you need to add a 33k ohm resistor or damage may occur. I use a d104 on mine & it works great with the resistor added......Good luck, HootyAl

Thanks Lon and Hootyal for the help. It is greatly appreciated. I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one that realized this was here. Thanks, Harve-Unit199
