What's the best way to expand the freq coverage of a 2000GTL, without the "skips"- the poorman mod or the expo kit?

Goes up to 27.845 to 26.525 I think Im sure on the uppers but not on the lowers would have to look.
I also have a super expo kit with a separate vco board that goes 80 above and 80 below just never got around to trying to install it. Nice kit though got it out of texas. To install it right you needed a 40 mhz scope or better.
I checked the freqs there correct 27.845-26.525.

The card kit is 80 above and 80 below, I dug it out of my desk forgot I had all that stuff.
