hi i have a realistic trc 490 base station that i bought used but it has some problems.the guy told me he took out the extra channels that it had in it.he said it was a bunch of extra wires and some switches.for some reason channel 19 is channel 28 and the receive is bad if someone is giving me a 9 on the meter on my other radio they give me a 1 on this radio. And the clarifier when IM on upper sideband only if I turn it to a a certain spot and IM talking the transmit cuts out like IM not even pressing the mic.should i put it in the trash and light it on fire?or what?thank god i didnt pay to much for it.lol |

freebird a given on used radios is unless you know the sellers background always asume just like a used car ....... its a headache looking for a new owner ..... you can fix it but you still have a old radio ..... |

well i only paid 5 bucks for it so i didnt lose much i know it can be fixed,i kinda like it i like old radios but thats just me. |

u'll need a sam's for it. will need a complete realignment. as for the channel problem need to find a tech that knows this type of mod. tony/n5jva/cef 259 |
