307: I notice that you give instructions on what to adjust to peak a radio.I'm interested in knowing what my local tech is doing when he starts stretching the little coils of wire that are wrapped around certain internals.

He is changing the impedance of them to match them better with the input / output. The closer you are to the match , the more efficient it is , thus you have more power output. They are all just "ball-parked" at the factory.

or he may be changing the match (impedance) for harmonics. the more he stretches, the more your meter reads those harmonics. it all depends on what coils he is stretching. something else to think about.
