I have a connex 4800DXl. The new one with echo. I want to tie transmit and recieve together on the clarifier. I did it on a friends radio which was the 4800 without echo a long time ago. I can't find anything to tell me how to do it. Also, is it the same on the 6900F? I have a friend that has one and wants to do it also.I know they're basically the same radio. All help is appreciated. Thanks, Qper 222

How do you like the radio? I am thinking very seriously of getting one but I have read about the normal one drifting on sideband and it overheating. I talk sideband alot and need something very stable on sideband or I would have gotten a galaxy already.

I have had a 4800 dxl for 3 years or so. I think it's the best radio I've ever owned. I like it so much I bought a RG-99 and a TR6900f Jumbo which are basically the same radios with a twist. I've never had ANY problems with the radio. I did use it for a while and then did the following mods:
1. added an sp1-a speech processor
2. did the recieve mods
3. upgraded the af amp and predriver
4.installed a channel guard kit

the results over a stock 4800 were amazing. I use mine on lsb 99% of the time and have nothing but great reports with it. Everyone should have one. Hope this helps
