i was wondering which resistors is for the roger beep.. this beep is a little high for my liking... |

To make the roger beep louder on the RCI 50 and 70, change R-179 from 1.5 Meg to a smaller value. The lower the value of this resistor, the louder it will be, up to a limit. Making it less than 100K usually will make the beep tone very unstable and/or shut it down completely.
The duration (length) of the beep is controlled by the value of C-146. It comes with a 2.2 uF. A larger value makes the beep longer. Increasing the value of the capacitence will lengthen the time of the beep.
As far as changing the actual tone, I'm afraid I can't help you there. I've never attempted it or saw the need too. Personally, I always thought the RCI's Roger Beep was unique when compared to all others. They have their own distinct sound.
I do know this though. The lower in Beep "pitch" you go, the shorter the distance it will carry. In the early 70's, Nasa developed the "Roger Beep" for sideband use. Most kids today like to use them on A-M since they don't really know what they're for. Understandably, to them the Roger Beep is nothing more than a noise toy.
Hopefully someone else can help you with changing the pitch of your Roger Beep.
