I asked this on the mods page and so far its fallen on dead ears.. LOL
Anywho, anyone know of a few good mods to tighten up the NB/ANL circuit to make the NB/ANL more effective? |

If you're looking for a tighter receiver, it's not going to happen with the RCI radios. In my opinion, adjacent channel rejection in these radios is one of the poorest the industry has to offer. However, it does have one of the best SSB transmiters.
Some years back, there was a kit called a Channel Guard that really tightened up the receiver. I always thought it was a shame that you had to buy after-market parts for a radio that should have had them in there in the first place.

The 455KHz AM or FM (Not for SSB Use)
The 10.695MHz CHannel Guard for Newer SSB Model's
The 7.8 MHz Channel Guard for Older SSB Model's

For those of you interested, this Channel Guard kit will do "wonders" for the RCIs receiver.

Im sorry Lon i wasnt looking for a sale pitch just a little help on making the NB/ANL more effective on noise.. Sorry KCOgxz im not looking to keep bleed to a minimum i am looking at improving the NB/ANL NOT the whole receiver end. Please reread my post...

i know the forum master is going to kill me...but i have had enough of your attitude cm3885. your attitude is why i personally leave your questions unanswered. when i have answered them in the past, i got a smart remark from you if it wasn't the answer you wanted to hear. its like you already have this one and only one answer in your mind. and if your question does not get that answer, you get upset (like above). don't feel like you are the only one. there are those who told me to keep my answers for college students and such. they are also in the same boat as you. but yet you all are the 1st to cry when you post a question and no one answers it, gee..i wonder why that is. look at what you did to lon and jeff when they tried to help you with their opinions. i and the others here donate our time to help people, not to get smart remarks from them.
to answer your question though (which i had read but left unanswered due to things like your above post) the schottky's will work here. |

Finally dialogue,I based my opinion of you on anothers experience,my mistake,he had misgivings but they were his,I have since talked to others,who say I was wrong,and gave their reasons,one said you are tops in your field and you're right a few less "poor me" attitudes on here would help the entire forum immensly,have a happy day,and don't sweat the small stuff. |

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I thought you were looking for a tighter receiver. What Tech-8541 and I posted will do just that. These are the only mods that I know of that will greatly enhance the NB/ANL circuit and eliminate 80% of bleed-over. Other than that, I do not know of any other mod for this circuit.
As far as "being out of line", it happens to some of us here on the forum from time to time. More than once the Forum Master and Big Lon has had to stand on my toes and get in my face.
Anyways, I hope you find what you're looking for. At this point, I'm out of ideas for mods for the RCI receiver.

Where are the channel guard filters listed? I put one in my Washington (got it from C.B.C)and love it. Would like to order another. |

They had just come into the warehouse last Friday when we drove down to visit Copper.
They may be so New that they have not had time to be listed on the Website as yet.
If you are in a hurry call and ask for The Copper Tech or Suzanne and they will be able to help you.
I am sure as soon as they get the chance they will get them Listed on Web Page / Site.
Or let me know what Radio you want one for and I can tell you which Channel Guard to order.
