The radio is a President Grant Limited Edition Export radio. The radio was manufactured in the 1980s. The stock mic that comes with it is a POS and the interesting thing is......it is has a 6 pin plug. Why 6 pins I don't know the mic doesn't change channels or anything like that.
I am interested in an Astatic mike for it, which power mics will work on it?
Thanks!

Sparkomatic,

Sorry I can't help you with the 6 Pin.

I have the wiring for the President Grant & Export Grant 4 & 5 Pin Radio's but this 6 Pin is new to me.

Maybe someone who has one can jump in and help.

I found the owners manual and according to the mic wiring diagram the plug is 6 pin but 2 of those pins are not being used.

Sparkomatic,

If you found the owner's manual and it has the Stock Wiring you should be able to use any Astatic Power Mic mic.

If you can give me the Stock Mic wiring from the Owner's Manual, I can cross it with the Astatic Wiring for you.

Sparkomatic, Unless you bought the radio new, I believe that the plug on both the radio and microphone have been changed for one or another reason, because all the info. I find come up with a 4 or 5 pin microphone plug system, but if you can tell what each wire inside the microphone that works on the radio is doing. One of us that does microphone work, can cross it to an Astatic microphone. Lon808: a six pin system on this radio is news to me also. Yankee
