I was given a Galaxy Mars and can't find anything on the web about it.Does anyone know something about these radios. It has upper and lower channels and also appears to have dual finals. It's kind of week in the modulation dept. does somebody know how to tune one of these? Mike |

Rob5mike Does the main board look like any other dual final Galaxy? Also, how many bands and where is it made? Jeff, kc0gxz. |

No it does not look like any Galaxy I have seen. The only markings on the board I can find are"EPTMARS11Z" Its smaller than any of the DX model radios and the finals are 2sc1945 with a 2sc2166 driver. The radio has 3 bands(HI,MID,LO)MID is for the 40 CB channels,AM FM,variable power, roger beep,10K +&- switch and the mic plug is on the front. |

Jeff I am sorry,I just realized that I posted this under the base radio section but it is a mobile.I wrote Galaxy tech support and they said it was built by Ranger and there was not any information released for the radio.I guess I'll email Ranger and see if they can give me any help. Mike |

Rob5mike Sounds to me as though you have kind of a rare one there. If it were mine, it would more than likely be a keeper. Lon also has a few "keepers" hidden away. Thanks Mike Jeff. |

That board number leads me to believe that Ranger DID make it, but they won't support it. BTW, Galaxy does not manufacture any of their radios, Ranger makes them to Galaxy's specs. Galaxy imports them and warrents them, and, in my opinion, has the best support. |

if there is not a 'dx' somewhere in the model name/number, it is not a 'true' galaxy. yes, galaxy does not make their radios, but the radios that have the 'dx' somewhere on them are the only galaxy radios that they 'import' for sale here, and hence the only radios they support. |
