Are these mikes one in the same, I recently aquired a 551, but it only has 4 wires in it. Red,black, white, sheild. The wiring code for it on coppers and in astatic manuals say there should also be a Green or blue wire depending on where you get the info. My question is do I need to make a jumper wire on the internal terminal strip to get it to work on my RCI-2970? The paper on the BUM-1 mike says that the Blue/green wire is switching commom. any help would be a blessing at this time....Thanks Ohiobiker...Walter

Ohiobiker

I'm thinking you have one of the very early ones. Anyways, try this and let me know if it works or not. I'm curious.
Pin 1- Shield

Pin 2- White = Audio

Pin 3- Red = Transmit

Pin 4- Black = Receive

Pins 5 and 6 of course are the UP-DOWN bottons and won't be used here. I hope this may have been of some help to you.
