Because they are great amps, a little on the expensive side, and rarely need repairs. Great amp, that and Dave's made are my choices for mobile amps any day over the rest.

When is copper going to carry these amps?
This is a suggestive comment by the way.

Sitm,

As of now and I may be wrong, but I do not think there are any plans to carry these amp's.

Sorry, but there just has not been enough of a demand or request's to carry them.

Very well, I have my eye on a Kl amp from copper. I want to put something in my two trucks and one in my wive's bronco to help when distance is an issue. I would imagine I will go with a kl something from copper. or maybe I will just get accouple magnum radios and call it a day.

Don't overlook the Magnaforce line of amps too, they are made by the same outfit that makes the Xforce. The Magnaforce amps are set up for SSB and will kick butt on AM too, real nice.

Thanks Lon, Class C though, I guess it would not be good on SSB would it?

Roger,

Class "C" amplifiers are conduct less than 50% of the input signal and the distortion at the output is high.

But high efficiencies (up to 90%) are possible.

Do a Google search for: "Electronic amplifier"

Hope this help's,

Class C will probably not sound very good on SSB but should work ok on CW and FM.

Class C will probably not sound very good on SSB.....but noise & distance removes some of the imperfections. you've heard my mobile on SSB(CB), bob, that was class 'C'. locally, within 7-8 miles, on SSB, audio reports are HARSH. 25 miles away and more, those who hear it ask those closer to me what they are listening to-they don't hear the harshness. competing noise during skip conditions eliminates imperfections from the listeners ear as well. as for what it does to surrounding freqs.....i plead the 5th(and don't use THAT amp setup anywhere other then 11m).
