The other day, I was adjusting my KLV 1000-P. At full power I adjusted the input adjust knob. With out noticing much of a change I moved it the full length of the knob. I blow the 4 amp fuse on the back side of the board. After replacing the fuse I keyed up the amplifier and talked two or three times after replacing the fuse. Another morning after I fired up the amp. And it would not key up. After a closer look at the board, I had blown a BC 547 Transistor. At the location of Tr2 on the board I was able to locate and buy the replacement transistor. My question is this. Was the extreme movement of the input adjusting knob at full power, responsible for this? Blowing of the fuse and the BC 547 transistors? My center conductor of my coax jumpers does not fit tight in the input output female 239’s connectors on the KLV 1000-P Amplifier. Right now I’m looking for answers on what I did wrong. And on what I might do to prevent it in the future. Some of you Techs please help. Thank you |

I just bought a KLV 1000P and it was delivered today. I was setting it up as per the instructions and the first time I keyed the mic, there was a loud POP, and a FLASH indide the amp. I cut it off and think I got a POS. I would like any info. on the problem with these amps.
