The are selling (latest version) for around $800 new. The 706 in all versions is a good little multiband, multimode radio. I had one and sold it to pay INS fees and regret having to do so.

When I can I'll be buying at leat two more - one for the shack and for in the MG

I also have a 706MkIIG. Good radio, but it's sensitive to excessive heat (can't be just left in the vehicle on a hot day). One other good thing about it is the ability to hook it to a low-power source and be able to transmit QRP with its variable power. Lots of features, and in my opinion worth the money.

The DSP feature was improved in the "G" as well.
