Was planning on getting the 2547 for my first base station, but am tempted by the 2995 for $200 more. Is it worth the extra $$$ or would I be better off putting the money in a better antenna etc? I've been told the 2995 has better recieve, and can put out up to 250 watts with a good tune up? Or would I be better off getting the 2547 and using my Shooting Star 225w? Or buying a KLV? I was planning on a Imax 2000 antenna, what would be the next step up? Thanks, Stogie 525 CEF 345 |

Stogie Personally, I would opt for the 2995 and the I-Max combination. Your station would be a force to recken with once you get the base of the I-Max at least 36 feet in the air and the 2995 opened up to its 250 watts or more capabilities. Jeff Tech548 |

Stogie, We have had our 2995DX for about three years now and LOVE IT! While both are good radios if you want the Power & the 10/11/12 Meter bands, & other goodies go with the 2995DX and Fan Kit & you will be set. http://www.copperelectronics.com/cgi-bin/checkitout/checkitout.cgi?catalogSTORE:CKIE:prodR10-10120+ http://www.copperelectronics.com/cgi-bin/checkitout/checkitout.cgi?catalogSTORE:CKIE:prodR10-10130+ Lon Tech808 |
