I was just wondering which meter would be more accurate a new Dosy 4002 or an old PDC 700?

Thanks in advance
Bob

I have a PDC 600, had it for many, many years.
It's still as accurate today as it was when I first bought it. jim

I like the way the Dosy's look, but from what I have heard they are not the most accurate things around. In fact, some people I know would say that what I said was an under statement!

BC The two Dosy's that I've had so far have both had real problems. One had a short that caused my two low powered radios to stop transmitting. The radios showed TX and meter movement, but the Dosy would go flat, and people told me I quit transmitting or was I very weak, and or breaking up. The second was reading my SWR completely off the mark. Where I have a 1.2.1 it was showing a 1.6.1 or so. Then where I have a 3.0.1 it was showing a flat or very low SWR anyway. Now they're sending me a third, and if it doesn't work I'll take any type of refund they offer. I just bought the new meter because I bought a new radio, power supply, coax and antenna. The old PDC 600 I have isn't a bad meter, a little sticky here and there but just thought a nice shiny meter would be nice with the new station.

Road_warrior I read your profile and saw you have the RCI 2995DX. I wish I had bought it over the 2970DX, but hind sight is as they say 20/20.

I have many meters. PDC 600, PDC 700, RS 3 window, Swan wm 1500. The 700 was very accurate until it fell off my shelf and I put a new movement in it. Wattage is ok but swr is way off. tony/n5jva/cef 259

Try a Diamond SX 240C.

Very accurate, but won't make you feel good all the time, but accurate.

i agree with bob p. i had a dosy 4002 test center
with the verticle/horizonal switch box built in
and like bob the swr read really high.if it
was 1.2.1 on a pdc it was a 1.6.1 on the dosy
the average side of power didnt seem to work
at all.showed no forward swing at all.the rf power varied at each level no matter what scale i was on. imho JUNK stay away.id try dosy or astatic
