I turned up the pot for ssb power. But do I turn up the vr19 rf low power or vr 15 af power for a little more power on am side. Also with varible power should I leave the dead key at 0 or turn up a little. And how much modulation should I turn up. I also have a shure power mic. Is there a peak & tune site for this radio.

Thanks Santa

Set VR-19 for Low Power to the desired setting for minimum dead key , As for the audio , crank it all the way...

You can control it with the mike gain. Also ive noticed that if you run the radio too low of a carrier it will tend to sound distorted.I run at around 10 watts deadkey. If you run at too high a level deadkey you will cook your powersupply. The powersupply can be upgraded but the transistors are expensive.
