I recently obtained a mark-4 Browning Eagle. The appearence is magnificent. However, the transmitter has problem's.Very little to no modulation at all,and will only transmit on channel 18 regardless of what channel it's set to.Would like to get the radio up and running seeing as how the appearence of it is spectacular.Any help with it would be appreciated.

The audio problem is likely leaking interstage audio coupling caps.

The channel problem is likely a PLL failure of some type. Either way, unless you know something about component level electronic troubleshooting, you had best send this to someone who can restore tube radios.

How do i read private message's?I dont use this forum too often.Thank's for the reply's.This is what i have found out so far.The PLL is bad.The 9volt supply in the reciever was defective.Replaced rectifier, few resistor's and the zener diode.I'm in the process of obtaining the E-Prom for it now.Hopefully it will up and running soon.Patzerozero,i will read your PM as soon i figure out how to do so.Thank's again!

Flybynight and Patzerozero,

The PM's are automatically forward to your e-mail address that you have listed and you get an Automatic Reply saying you have an e-mail message, BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have a firewall or Spam Blocker it can and does CHUCK the e-mails.

It is Much Easier to List your e-mail address in your Profile to AVOID any problems.

Every 14 days I end up with Spam Blocker chucking around 20 to 30 e-mails that have attachements or is considered Spam by my spam blocker.

Also if your Firewall is set to High it can also block incoming messages that are forwarded thru Copper using the PM Feature.

The easiest way to avoid these problems is to list your e-mail address in your profile if you want e-mails from other members.

That is why I personally have posted many times DO NOT USE THE PM FEATURE to e-mail me as they can end up in e-mail heaven FOREVER.

Also I will not use the PM Feature if I choose to e-mail someone as it may NEVER get there due to the INTERNET GODS that deliver e-mails.
