I've seen a number of places online that sell adapters that allow you to use a standard 4 pin mic on a non-4 pin radio.. I've seen some for pretty much every configuration except for the Magnum 257/357 series.. In fact, the ONLY RF Limited/Magnum radio I have seen them for is the Delta Force!!

Question #1 - will one that adapts a 4 pin cobra to 6 pin Delta Force work on a 257 or 357 radio?

Question #2 - if the answer to #1 is no, any ideas where I can get one that will work?

Question #3 - If not available premade anywhere else, anyone willing to make me a adapter cable that has a 6 pin female wired for a 257/357 on one end and a male 4 pin wired for Cobra on the other end? Email me if you can do this!!! (email address is in my profile!!)

I feel like a heel asking this - but are you 100% sure? Just don't want to fry my radio!

747,

The Mic Wiring for the 357 is:

PIN #1 ~ AUDIO
PIN #2 ~ RECEIVE
PIN #3 ~ TRANSMIT
PIN #4 ~ DOWN (UP with 22K Ohm Resistor)
PIN #5 ~ GROUND
PIN #6 +13.8VDC

THE SAME AS THE OLDER MAGNUM 257 Radios.

If your Mic is wired for a Cobra Radio then the Mic Adapter from Cobra 4 Pint to MAGNUM 257/357 ~ 6 Pin should work.

747,

I have a friend who has a Magnum 257. He thought he was having mic problems so I took my Delta Force mic over and it hooked up just fine. Worked great on his radio. His and my microphones were different, but both stock Magnum mic's that were wired the same (6 pin- we did not check the channel up/down but suspect it was also the same).

Hope this helps.

Alsworld
