Does anyone know what the secondary voltages are for transformer on the Palomar 350Z?This amp has the Full Wave Bridge not the voltage doubler circiut found in some models.They are three outputs on the secondary,I know that one of the outputs is 12.6vac.Also the primary side has three wires I'm not sure of the third wire that also feeds the power supply board.Any help would be great!

The AC voltage out of the transformer should be 600 volts. There are two wires on the primary, two for the filament/control voltages and two for the B+ voltage. There is one wire of each kind out of each side of the transformer so you will identify them by where the are in relation to the core of the transformer.
The two outermost wires on the transformer, one on each side, are the 12.6 volt secondary. On the side of the transformer towards the back of the amp, the wire will be grounded. The other wire will go right against the front panel to the power supply board.
The next two wires (middle wires) towards the center are the primary leads. Once again one on each side. They come from a terminal strip to the side of the transformer. One wire from the fuse holder and one from the power switch.
The inner most wires are the high voltage secondaries. They will be the smallest gauge wire and will go to the power supply board between the filter capacitors. With these removed from the board you should measure right at 600 VAC. |
