Does any tech out there happen to know where the varactor diode is on a Ranger 696F Base ?

doug, your question is kind of misleading. there is probably more than one varactor diode in your radio. are you looking to do a clarifier mod? give us a few details and we can better help you.

Texas Ranger Base 696F ssb. Modification . Located J-33 on board, are wires to pin in order 12345678. Mods says p-5 yellow p-6 grey correct? If so they are not in order. p-5 yellow is, but p-6 grey is not it is next to last, white wwire is last. Need help please

Blex,

The wires on J33 are:

Brown
Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Purple
Grey
White

You place the switch's in the Yellow and Grey wires.
