just bought a klv1000 and red on air light is very dim on low and a little brighter on med and so on. but never does it LIGHT UP the whole lens. i see the bulb itself. is this normal??? on a cobra 2000 keying 2 and swinging 8 im getting 250 sw 300 on low 275 sw 400 on hi 1 and 300 sw 500 on hi 2 does this sound rite?? thinking of dumping the 2000 and hooking up the the S9, which im sure will swing more... thanks in advance, robert...

Quickdraw,

Yes this is 100% Normal for the light, and I would suggest 2 to 2-1/2 watts of drive for it.

DO NOT hook the S-9 up to it because if your Meter is even a little bit off and you key up then BAM there goes the Amp or fuses.
