Yes, it is esentially the same as the clarifier-mod for the RCI-2950...(they both use the same board) |

Uh, the reason you can't find it is because it's not such a useful thing to do. A radio that can be tuned in one tenth of a kHz steps really doesn't need it. If the clarifier is right, setting the knob pointer to 12 o'clock will put it on your transmit frequency. Step the frequency up or down on the right-most digit and you'll land on the other guy's frequency as close as the guys with the simpler radios can get. After all, if you can change the transmit frequency with the clarifier, those last two digits on the display really don't mean much any more do they? A simpler radio that covers a whole 10 kHz per click on the channel knob really DOES need the clarifier cut loose. The 2950/Turbo really doesn't. 73

2600, this is the oldest argument in the CB-www. when on SSB, it would be nice to have a VFO for fine-tune. If you un-lock the clarifier, you allow finer adjustment (and you don't make the disply "useless"). When unlocked, its coverage is usually only no more than 3KHz (if you're off that much on AM, it is not noticable) and yes, you can re-calibrate the unlocked clarifier for center-slot and be dead on all the time...it is no big deal... |

I'd have to agree - 100Hz is a pretty big difference for SSB and definitely changes the pitch of the person you're chatting with. Having the ability to tune in 10Hz steps or finer is definitely better. |
