Hello,
I have galexy saturn that the transformer or somthing humming all the time, even with radio off. Is this normal. Whats happening is you can hear it when you key up even with mike gain completely off. With echo off barely hear it still hum but barely hear it in key up. Echo on hear it pretty loud. Also hear it thru the speaker with the volume turn all the way down, thats with echo on or off. I was thinking transformer going bad or bad cap. Any suggestion will be appreciated.. Thanks in advance

The saturn is like a lot of the cb type base stations, the transformer stays on even when the radio is off. I've seen a few you could hear a slight hum in, but haven't had one that transmitted the hum or was even loud enough to notice unless you got real close to it. Sounds like your's has a filter cap in the power supply bad or going bad.
