Is there anyway to bench test a power mic. I have a Cobra 135xlr ssb and I just can't seem to get my supersidekick, turner plus 3 desk top or d 104 tub 8 to modulate. They all send a good carrier but no mod. Is there a way to test the amp inside and the mic. element with a vom. I have a stock hand mic hooked up now and it works ok so I guess I have the pin wiring right as per diagrams. I have cleaned the switch contacts with fine sand paper tested them to see if the make and break the way they should and they seem to be ok.It seems odd that all my mikes are bad at one time. My radio has relay switching and I made sure the switch was right. There is a schem. on the d104 but not the sidekick are they available online anywhere? And yes I have changed the battery. Any suggestion would be appriciated. Thank you John

Do you have a stock mic that works with the radio? You might have a radio that was rewired so the mic jack is not the same as stock. Do you know how to use a clip lead and a VOM to determine which pin does what?

I forgot to mention that they sell microphone testers, but they're pretty expensive if you only need it once.

If you have an amplified speaker you can use clip leads to see if you get audio output.

Does anyone out there have a circiut diagram of a Turner Super Side Kick it is wired exactly like my hand mike that works fine but when I key the mike it throws a good carrier but makes a loud buzz like its shorting something out, the transmit light does light. I'm thinking it must have been wired for another type of radio.
