Could anybody tell me if they have used this mic and how well it works? Is it really a noise cancelling power mic?

I'm currently running the 636L, but it seems to cause power drops atleast going by my bench meter. A stock mic shows more swing, and I've tried several different 636's with the same results. The stocker works well in the shack, but in my truck I need a noise cancelling mic, but I would like to have that little extra kick.

Are there mods for the 636L to make it a power mic or atleast pick up it's audio output a tad? Would I be better off buying the RD104?

Thanks!!

don't use power mics that much at all, porkchop. my main mobile radios have been AR3500 & grant xl, and have had power mics on 'em in the past. road king rk76 was my favorite, tone was just right & it was power with functioning noise cancelling. of course-discontinued. have tried 575-m6, d104m6, & road devil on 'em & all worked.
road devil made audio tone not to my liking unless i messed around with radio mic gain & mic settings some. & yes, it did cancel some noise. with the 575 & d104, i could NOT drive with the window open, so the devil was the lesser evil. but the mods done to my xl leave no need for a power mic...the dm461 noise cancelling power mic for about $20 from ***** actually works pretty well, don't think copper has it though, not sure why, i'm pretty sure it's from the dm452 folks.

I have never used a road devil, yet have heard one, It canceled some noise, yet I could hear the passenger just fine, albeit a little quiet. A buddy of mine has a rk56 knock-off and it sounds real good even w/ the windows open.

My experience listening, that's all.

I've been told my road devil is louder and less tinny sounding than my d104m6 on my grant. Hope this helps.
