on the internet it shows the conversion for the standard "band" coverage 25.615 to 28.305,I don't want the 25's but would be interested in just listening to more of the 28's,I have NEVER keyed up on 10 meters and have no desire to be a ham,so what can be done with the other jumper pins,do I need more jumpers?Can I fabricate more jumpers?Or am I driving down a dead-end street,I just refuse to believe that you can't shift the band spread by about 40 or 80 channels,unless a tech tells me it is utterly impossible.I'm not radio ignorant and I understand radio theory,a ham friend said "He thought I could pass the extra class written exam,just by chatting with him for 2 hours and answering his questions".He's one of the local ham test administrators,that's not the proper term but I can't think of it,so if you have ANY way to do this it would be appreciated.Bigbob |

Bigbob,
Since the 2517 came from the factory with J29 Jumper Block installed on Pin 1 & 2 for 10 meter band only and you had to move it to Pin 2 & 3 for the 11 meter band maybe a double pole double throw switch would work with Position #1 for pins #1 & 2 for the 10 meter band and Position #2 for pins #2 & 3 for the conversion.
Not sure as I never had this question come up before but it should work I would think as Pin # 2 is common to both setups.
Hope this might help or at least something to think about.

I thought about that and wondered if I would have to shut it down to throw the switch or just do it with the set on and take the chance that the processor would go nuts for the split second that there would be no connection?Are these pin sets the only ones with a connection to the band switch,I'm assuming that one set pulls the voltage down at a processor pin and the other set pulls it up,thus either turning the processor pin on or off.I was hoping for a band spread of 26.005 to 28.615 in six bands without having to use a seperate switch,but if I must I must. I will check the schematic you sent me and see if this is so,I hope I can find the jumper block on it.Bigbob |
