I'VE GOT A 2517 SO I'M KIND OF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INPUT RANGE BETWEEN THE 1000 AND THE 1000P. WHAT IS THE MIN.IMPUT TO THE 1000P AND HOW MUCH TOP END WILL YOU LOSE NOT USING THE FULL RECOMENED IN PUT? I KNOW I COULD USE THE 1000 BY JUST TURNING DOWN THE POWER ON THE RADIO BUT ALL IT WOULD TAKE IS TO FORGET TO TURN IT DOWN 1 TIME AND THAT WOULD BE THAT.

Yeah Allagator, but he wanted to know if it could be driven with a dx2517,there's not to many base amps out there other than magna-force that can be used with the standard dual-final base, the klv1000p can but at 2/3rds power out. You're doing good, darn good at 1400 on ssb,3's.Bigbob

on my 4 tube klv, i use the 4 to 1 ratio!! so if i can do about 1500 swing, i adjust the radio in put to the amp so the dk is around 350 to 400.. thats normally about 25 to 30 watt dk from my 2995dx, then let it swing!! i do have the russian selveta tubes in it, which the plates look about twice the size of the 6kg6as or the 519s!!!! to me they also seem to run cooler, and ive had them in the amp for about 4 years now and ive noticed no decrease of power?? hope this helps some..
