Q signals are nice for CW, but for phone I just ask the question or say what I mean.

Using codes or abbreviations on phone is as bad as saying Hi-Hi to indicate laughter rather than just laughing. At best it's an effort to speed things up, but at worst it's an effort to exclude those who aren't familiar with the code.

I use the Q codes from habit, just like asking what some one's "20" is. Sometimes it seems appropriate, and sometimes it doesn't.

Whatever feels right, I guess does work. I certainly would never suggest that we start using "Q" and "Z" signals -with a list at our right hand, just for the "convenience" of using them. LOL

Oh, HP445, LOL = Laughing Out Loud.... :?)
