how hard is it to instal a echo board in a 2985DX and if it can be done easy which board is best. Are there any good echo desk mikes that can be purchesed out there today that worked as good as the echo 2000 astatic or the sadelta desk mikes?.

My personal opinion is leave the echo board out. I think unless a radio came with one installed from the factory, they just never sound as good. Buy an echo chamber or mic, and try that first. If you aren't have eBay will help you get rid of it pretty easy.

doggie619, so far most of the turbo echos i have installed sounded good; IF u like echo :-) (i took the echo out of my galaxy and used the hole for something more useful - variable pwr [i will admit, if u have switchable talkback AND spend the time to adjust it PRECISELY, echo can enhance your talkability])

I dont care for echo but i like a little reverb just enough to give a slite tone.I think it makes the radio sound like your in a studio but echo is great to drive your nighbors nuts LOL so is SSB mode but that is rude so i try to keep out of tv`s.
